UN SOGNO SVEDESE
L’ultima collezione A/I di Apolina trova ispirazione nei viaggi della designer in Svezia, alla scoperta di musei come lo Skansen e il Nordiska, che trasportano i visitatori nei tempi che furono. È soprattutto l’artigianato vintage ad esercitare una forte influenza, sin dai primi passi mossi dal brand. La nostalgia nel ricordare il lancio della prima collezione l’ultimo giorno di permanenza in un’idilliaca baita della campagna svedese ha portato proprio alla creazione di quest’ultima collezione, dai colori caldi e naturali. Possiamo definirla come una celebrazione dell’addio all’estate per dare il benvenuto all’autunno.
La fondatrice del brand, Caroline, madre di Veda e Bonnie, ha lavorato nella moda per un decennio. Quando ha dato vita al brand, è subito andata a ripescare nella memoria quei pezzi che tanto amava da bambina: vestiti fatti a mano dalla nonna e indumenti di seconda mano dei cugini più grandi. L’ispirazione dietro al marchio è uno stile bohémien che Caroline non è riuscita a rintracciare tanto facilmente per l’abbigliamento dei più piccoli… ecco perché ha dato vita ad Apolina.
Ogni capo è fatto a mano e con orgoglio in India.

A SWEDISH DREAM
Apolina’s latest Autumn collection was inspired by annual visits to Sweden; exploring “Skansen” and “Nordiska,” museums which transport the visitor back to the Sweden of yesteryear. Vintage handicrafts, excitedly seized upon at roadside “loppis” exerted their influence and provided a reminder of the early days of the Apolina brand. The self indulgence of succumbing to this nostalgia, including memories of the original launch on the final day of a stay in an idyllic cabin in the Swedish countryside, led to the latest collection. The warm, natural, earthy tones that surrounded them provided the basis for this latest colour palette.
This Autumn collection is steeped in nostalgia, family and comfort. It celebrates saying goodbye to those last summer days and moving towards the calmer, slower pace of early Autumn days.
Caroline, Apolina founder and proud mother to Veda & Bonnie, worked in the fashion industry for a decade, and one of her first thoughts upon finding out she was having a baby girl was what fun she would have dressing her!
Her head filled with memories of the cherished pieces from her childhood; dresses hand-embroidered by her grandmother and 1970s hand-me downs from her older cousins.
She always loved bohemian embroidered dresses and finding them for children was a lot harder than Caroline imagined and at this point the idea for ‘Apolina’ was born and it is proudly and ethically, made in India.
