Cari Scimparello Friends,

Da lì sono venuti i popoli, le loro dottrine e le loro religioni; lì sono le radici di tutto il genere umano e le oscure sorgenti di tutte le vite; da lì provengono le immagini degli dei e le tavole delle leggi.” (Hermann Hesse)

Questa settima uscita di Scimparello è dedicata all’ASIA. Tante sono le ragioni per cui abbiamo scelto proprio questo tema. Una è sociale: #stopasianhate. Crediamo nella tolleranza e nella giustizia e nulla ci indigna, e ci rattrista, più del razzismo: da ovunque provenga, contro chiunque sia diretto e per qualsiasi motivo. Ma non vogliamo neppure che questa ragione offuschi la fascinazione che abbiamo sempre avuto per questo continente, fonte costante di interesse e di ispirazione. Questo numero è un omaggio alle infinite realtà dell’Asia, alle sue tradizioni e alla sua innovazione.
Tanti paesi, così diversi, così tante storie da raccontare.

This seventh issue of Scimparello is dedicated to ASIA. There are many reasons why we chose this theme. One of them is social: #stopasianhate. We believe in tolerance and justice and nothing outrages us, and saddens us, more than racism: wherever it comes from, against whoever it is directed and for whatever reason. Nor do we want this reason to obscure the fascination we have always had for this continent, a constant source of interest and inspiration. This issue is a tribute to the infinite realities of Asia, its traditions and its innovation. So many countries, so different, so many stories to tell.
