Walkey launches Happy Planet Barefoot SS26
Sustainable barefoot shoes for kids’ first steps
by Enrico Fragale Esposito & Petra Barkhof
With the launch of its new Happy Planet Barefoot SS26 collection, Walkey embraces a new philosophy, introducing a line of sustainable barefoot shoes designed to support children during one of the most delicate and defining phases of their development: their first steps.
Inspired by the sensation of walking barefoot, the collection is built around freedom. No rigid structures, no unnecessary constraints, just soft, flexible shoes that allow the foot to move, adapt and explore.
Lightweight and incredibly soft, the shoes are designed without stiff heel counters, encouraging a more natural gait and supporting healthy foot growth from the very beginning.
Happy Planet Barefoot isn’t just a functional innovation: it’s also a conscious one. The collection reflects Walkey’s ongoing commitment to sustainable kidswear, combining craftsmanship with responsible material sourcing. The soles are made from recycled materials and certified GRS (Global Recycled Standard), ensuring traceability across the supply chain. Uppers in leather, nubuck and split leather come from recycled selections, reinforcing a production process that actively reduces environmental impact. Inside, breathable linings are entirely metal-free and nickel-free, making them safe for even the most sensitive skin.
The collection includes multiple styles for boys and girls, all designed to accompany children in their everyday discoveries.
