Our first FW26 editorial is here. When I first saw this story, a memory came back immediately: the school years with my own children, living in a big city. The mornings, the rush, meeting again after school, and especially the park — that part returned so clearly. Those small moments between school and home were such a big part of our everyday life.
When I was a child, things were different. We went to school alone, came home alone, and afterwards we would meet our friends and disappear into a park or a forest. The moments I shared with my mother were mostly in the morning, over breakfast, and then again in the evening.
Maybe that is why I connected so deeply with Les Jours d’École. It brought back two childhoods at once: my own, and the one I lived again through my children. And somehow, all those ordinary moments are the ones that stay with us. (Petra Barkhof)
