La Traversée

A plundered village, a family forced to flee. Two siblings Kyona and Adriel are separated from their parents, and embark on a heroic journey through a continent divided by war and migrant persecution. After facing incredible challenges, they finally reach freedom.

A very topical story that is told by director Florence Miailhe through an original graphic expression. The film is in fact made using the technique of painting on glass, making it a true work of contemporary art. Kyona, the protagonist who loves to paint, immediately presents herself as the alter ego of the director, who has a militant past as well as family vicissitudes similar to those she recounts in the film.

The chosen form of animation, of great creative beauty, brings this harshly realistic story closer to the traits of a fairy tale, making it suitable for audiences of all ages. The film is available on MUBI platform.
