Saul Leiter Exhibition : A Dreamlike Window into New York
Discover the first major Italian exhibition of Saul Leiter at the Belvedere, Reggia di Monza. A must-see for cool parents and young art lovers, featuring photos, paintings, and family-friendly events.

For the first time in Italy, a major exhibition is dedicated to the painter and photographer whose quietly revolutionary images have influenced generations of visual storytellers.
Titled “A Window Dotted with Rain”, the exhibition invites families and photography lovers alike to immerse themselves in 126 black and white photographs, 40 color works, 42 paintings, rare vintage magazines, and a documentary film. While other photographers sought to document New York’s imposing skyline or fast-paced energy, Saul Leiter turned his gaze to fogged windows, blurred reflections, and fleeting glances. His work feels like a visual haiku—intimate, quiet, almost whispered.
In the spirit of Leiter’s childlike wonder and sense of discovery, the program includes a variety of side events designed especially for families: art workshops, photography labs for children, and talks that explore the magic in the mundane.
