Collection Statement
Surf’s up, and these kids are ready for the waves next summer with their looks inspired from ocean side with a darker edge. Dsquared2’s Goth Surfer of Spring Summer 2024 mixes two styles to create a contemporary collection decked out with pieces for dressing up, staying at home, going to school, and going to the beach.
Denim is elevated with Dsquared2 treatments and tie-dye enters the lineup in a contemporary way. If camouflage print is created through multiple dot patterns, then elegant wear is also given a surfer spin.
Dare devil playmakers, try anything once sports players—the kids on the Dsquared2 Sport Edtn.09 team are ready for the game.
About the Brand
Dean and Dan Caten, twin brothers from Willowdale in Toronto, started their path in fashion at the Parson’s school of design in New York City in 1984. Eight years later, the Canadian duo moved to Italy with their sights set on creating their brand. After collaborating with some of Italy’s most celebrated fashion houses, in 1995 the designers presented their first men’s collection under the label Dsquared2. Their philosophy is an edgy mix of Canadian iconography, refined Italian tailoring and playful design. The collections are a seamless melding of contrasts: sporty and glamorous, laidback and extravagant, masculine and feminine, creating a distinctive concept of alternative luxury. Dean and Dan divide their lives between Milan and London, and the Dsquared2 collections are produced in Italy, giving rise to the brand’s motto of “born in Canada, made in Italy”
