I met Miriam Lindthaler a couple of months ago in Lanzarote, on one of those days when the light feels soft and everything seems gently suspended. What stayed with me wasn’t just her work, but her energy open, curious, and quietly confident. We sat down for a coffee together with our art director Judith, and somehow the conversation moved naturally to something we both know very well: photographing children is never just about clothes. It’s about trust, timing, and letting go of control. We spoke about how difficult it can be to ask for a pose and still keep something real. And how, in the end, the only way is to turn it into a game.
Looking at these images now, I recognize that same feeling. The children are styled, directed, aware of the camera and yet there is lightness. They move, they play, they invent small moments of their own. Nothing feels forced.
The styling by Schmizzi adds another layer to this balance expressive, playful, and just the right amount of unexpected. It feels perfectly in tune with PROM, where dressing up becomes part of the game.
This story lives exactly there — somewhere between structure and spontaneity, between posing and playing.
