Sagittarius: Born to Wander

Styling Tip – Oroscopello

Always dreaming of somewhere else, with a suitcase full of imaginary adventures.

Welcome to Oroscopello, our little horoscope with a wardrobe.

This winter Sagittarius look took me straight back to the end of the ’70s. I was living in Ibiza then, and we all wore cowboy boots with romantic dresses and skirts.

Here, a cosy Mabli knit with galloping horses (a little nod to the centaur) meets a Bebe Organic strawberry-print skirt and a red Loud beanie with a navy pom-pom. Then come the cowboy boots, of course: Bootstock, embroidered and ready for the road, with cream MP Denmark socks peeking out on top.

It’s a little country and a little bohemian, and ready to go anywhere, even up a mountain to say hello to the llamas.

Two styling tricks to try with what’s already in their wardrobe

Three prints can work together, as long as they share one colour. Here, the red of the hat comes back in the horses and in the strawberries.

And don’t be afraid to pair cowboy boots with a full, romantic skirt. The boots add just the right amount of attitude.

Who is little Sagittarius?
Every family seems to have one: the child who’s already halfway out the door before the shoes are on. Little Sagittarius is the explorer of the zodiac. They’re curious about everything, they ask “why?” a hundred times a day, and they’re happiest when the plan includes somewhere they’ve never been, even if it’s only the far end of the garden. Sagittarians are said to be optimistic, funny and very honest, and much better at starting adventures than at sitting still.

I should know, because I’m one of them. I was born on 29 November, and I’m still a dreamer, always with a new video story in my head. 😉

The dates
Sagittarius season runs from 22 November to 21 December in 2026. It’s the ninth sign of the zodiac, arriving just before winter officially begins. A little birthday fact: babies born right around these dates may need their exact birth time checked to determine their Sun sign.

Born under the same sky
Walt Disney was a December Sagittarius, and so is Taylor Swift. My favourite coincidence is that Louisa May Alcott, who wrote Little Women, and C.S. Lewis, who sent four children through a wardrobe into Narnia, were both born on 29 November. That’s my birthday too. I like to think it explains a lot.

A centaur with a story
Sagittarius is represented by an archer, traditionally depicted as a centaur: half human, half horse. The symbol is often associated with Chiron, the wise centaur from Greek mythology, known for teaching heroes and sharing his knowledge of medicine, music and archery. A rather wonderful symbol for little ones who are always learning, growing and aiming high.

Eyes on the stars
Here’s a lovely astronomical coincidence: the centre of our Milky Way lies in the direction of the constellation Sagittarius. In fact, the famous Sagittarius A*, the supermassive black hole at the heart of our galaxy, takes its name from this very constellation. So, quite literally, this sign has its eyes on the universe.

Birthstones and little treasures

November Sagittarians have topaz as their traditional birthstone, while December babies can claim turquoise. Topaz is often associated with warmth and abundance, and turquoise has long been called the stone that protects travellers. What sweeter keepsake for a little one born to wander?

A wish for a Sagittarius baby
A baby born between late November and Christmas arrives with the season’s lights already switched on. What do we wish them? A life full of maps and questions, friends in every corner of the world, and a laugh you can hear from the next room. And if you’re choosing their colour, go for sky blue, the colour of faraway places. 💙 Lovely for a first blanket or a tiny knitted bonnet.

This year
We’re not astrologers, but we did take a peek. Jupiter, the planet that rules Sagittarius, is spending this year in Leo, another fire sign. Astrologers usually read that as a lucky, generous and playful time: a good year to try new things, say yes to invitations and be a little brave. That sounds like a fine plan for any child.

The perfect gift
A rocking horse. What else would you give a little centaur? For an older explorer, try a globe that lights up at night, so they can plan tomorrow’s journey from bed.

Take it all with a smile: every child writes their own story. But if there’s a little Sagittarius at home, perhaps keep a map, a storybook and a pair of adventurous boots close by.
